Natural Park

The Languedoc – world-renown for the diversity of its preserved landscape – basks in a gentle Mediterranean climate with over 300 days of sunshine annually.

Parc Naturel du Haut Languedoc

Diverse landscapes

Situated in the south of the Massif Central, at medium elevation, Haut-Languedoc Regional Natural Park was created in 1973 and today regroups 92 communes in the Hérault and the Tarn.

Its territory is covered in forests and hiking trails, spreading across 260 000 hectares in the Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrénées regions.
From Mount Caroux to the Montagne Noire, from the Lacaune to the Orb mountains, from the Plateau des Lacs to the Sidobre, come and explore the vineyards and valleys.

The Voie Verte (Green Way)

A true “backbone” crossing every area of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Natural Park, the Haut-Languedoc Voie Verte or "Passa Païs", is built over the old railroad that connected Mazamet to Bédarieux up until 1986. Whether on foot, horse or bike, traverse the mountains and valleys on a voyage of discovery of human history, culture, chestnut groves, marble quarries, springs and dry stone walls.
